Port Blair, Sept. 22: The Rangat Police demonstrated its unwavering commitment to justice by swiftly solving a hit and run blind case that occurred near Darbar Bakery, Rangat. Within a mere 16 hours of the incident, the dedicated police team apprehended the prime suspect, providing much-needed closure to the victim and the community.

On 20th September 2023, the Rangat Police received information of a hit and run incident near Darbar Bakery, Rangat. The victims were taken to CHC Rangat for immediate medical attention by some Samaritan. A team from the Rangat Police Station promptly responded to the call and recorded a statement from Miss. Pooja Samadder, Supervisor at Rangat Gram Panchayat, revealing the details of the incident.

Port Blair, Sept. 22: The Andaman & Nicobar ASHA Workers Union has postponed the proposed agitation in front of the Directorate of Health Services today (22.09.2023) following an assurance given by the Health Department officials that the demands raised by the Union will be considered favourably.

A large number of ASHA Workers assembled in front of the Directorate of Health Services at Port Blair today (22.09.2023) afternoon.  A delegation of A & N ASHA Workers Union comprising Anbumalar, General Secretary, Sabita Banu, Treasurer, Margrat, Joint Secretary, Salma Bibi and K. Dhanamma, Executive Committee Members along with B. Chandrachoodan, General Secretary, CITU A&N State Committee held discussion with the Programme Officer, National Health Mission of Health Department on the demands raised by the Union.
